Printing Press Machine Operator

We are looking for a skilled Press Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating our KBA 7 color, double coater press to produce high-quality print materials. The ideal candidate should have experience in operating industrial machinery and strong attention to detail.

Press Operator responsibilities

• Prepare presses according to job specifications, including installing plates, adjusting ink levels, and loading paper into the feeders.
• Operate machines to produce printed materials, ensuring print quality and adhering to all safety regulations and standards.
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on machines, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues as needed.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain production efficiency and minimize waste.
• Clean and maintain machines to prevent malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.
• Coordinate with other operators and supervisor to ensure deadlines are met.
• Use company software to retain makereadies, speeds to maintain production records, ensuring accurate tracking of materials and resources.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Press Operator or similar role, with a strong understanding of printing processes and machinery operation
• Technical knowledge of printing equipment and processes, with demonstrated ability to perform maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently, show initiative, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and correct quality issues
• Able to lift and move heavy materials, stand for long periods of time, and work in a hot and noisy environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
• High school diploma or equivalent, with a vocational or technical degree in printing technology or related field, being an added advantage
